Linlithgow  9  Whitecraigs  11

This was only the second time this season that the Reds have been beaten and the team members were naturally disappointed after only succumbing to a late try from the visitors.  Local photographer Jonathan Forbes was on hand to record the action from the match and also penned a short report.

Like the rest of the crowd, I had high hopes that we’d hold on to that three point lead. I was watching in close-up with the long lens and the penalty that put us ahead was won by persistent scavenging work by the Reds hooker – he just kept on disrupting them in the ruck.  Whitecraigs certainly looked a solid enough side – a good pack and an out-half who could think and kick quickly – but they’d been contained most of the match.  Just as I thought they were about to break through, there was some inspiring defensive work from both our forwards and backs.  For me, that would be something that the Reds could take from this one - there seem to be three Reds surrounding every Blue when they were on the attack.  I suppose it’s to be expected that Whitecraigs scored their try off some training-ground trick move from the backs though.
