Charity Football Tournament
Saturday 30th July 2011
Now in its second year, this tournament is organised by Linlithgow Thistle Football Club, this is a 10 team 11-a-side tournament. There will be round robin using both pitches then a final. The proceeds go to the charity nominated by the winning team.
The fun will start around 11-30am and we anticipate a finish around 5pm. There will be a bouncy castle, and the usual BBQ (burgers and hot dogs). Depending on the weather there may be ice cream.
While there is no set entry fee, please purchase some food. Remember it’s for charity.
Linlithgow Rugby Club will be represented by the Thursday Night footballers, managed by Ian Lockhart and Jon Blundell, although we have drafted in a few youngsters. The Rugby Club have been drawn to play on the top pitch against Linlithgow Thistle, Stenhousemuir, Berwick Rangers U19s and last years winners Camelon Albion.
In the other group are Stenhousemuir U19s, Brightons, Denny, Bathgate Thistle and Bo’ness.
Choirs in August Charity Concerts
Both our Male Voice and Ladies Choirs will be leading performers in three Charity Concerts to take place in Edinburgh on the evenings of August 25th; 26th and 27th.
The concerts will raise funds for CHAS and the NSPCC and the music will feature songs from Les Miserables together with other well known classical and show songs. The concerts provide a great opportunity to support our choirs and two excellent causes.
Brief details are:
Dates - Thursday 25th, Friday 26th and Saturday 27th August
Time - 7.30pm to 9.30pm (with a 20 minute interval)
Venue - Bruntsfield Evangelical Church, 70 Leamington Terrace, Edinburgh (just off the Meadows)
