Brewin Dolphin U18 Plate Final

Wellington School  26 - 24  Linlithgow Academy

John Preece reported:

"That had to be one of the best matches I've been at all season and I've been at a fair number of SHE Premier 1 matches.  Absolutely end-to-end and full of commitment and skillful play, from both teams. Either side would have been worthy winners!"

Craig Young commented:

The Reds were extremely unlucky to lose this exciting encounter. The lead changed hands 5 times during the game. Linlithgow had the better of the first half and held a slender lead, spurred on by the impressive Callum Stevenson. Wellington had two speedy centres and they caused Linlithgow a lot of problems. Linlithgow led 24-16 midway through the second half and, for a while it seemed they would hold on, but Wellington hit back strongly, with a penalty and then a try under the posts with 6 minutes left. Linlithgow were unable to get back inside their opponents 22 and the minutes slid away. This was a great performance from Linlithgow.

A fuller match report will follow, but in the meantime John Preece had provided some match photos.  He hopes to have his Gallery up and running Thursday afternoon-ish for both games (U15 and U18 finals) and he says "I'll try to make sure that everyone is covered, but that's not so easy when the forwards spend most of their time head down in a pile of bodies."
