Reds Advance in National Shield
Hawick Linden Push Reds All the Way

Linlithgow travelled down to Hawick on Saturday 6th February to play Hawick Linden in the first round of the Scottish National Shield (new cup competition for all National League clubs).  As expected, the home side put up a spirited performance to hold the Reds to an 8-0 win in sticky underfoot conditions.  Captain Matt Dixon added a penalty to his early unconverted try, as Linlithgow led for most of the match.

SUNDAY:

Linlithgow Regain West Lothian Cup

Linlithgow regained the West Lothian Cup with a 19-5 win over AS Minorange from Guyancourt in an exciting match on Sunday morning.

Big thanks to Barry McKeown who organised the rugby twinning visit, coached a school team training session and played for both sides in the match!  If someone had brough along a set of bagpipes, he'd have probably played them at half-time!!

Winning Start to 2010

Linlithgow 21  RHC  10
It's been 6 weeks since the Reds last played and they started off 2010 just as they had left off 2009 with a win.  Missing a number of first-string backs, the Reds were delighted to welcome back both "AB" and Mark Dixon from lengthy injury lay-offs.  Charlie Gillanders was also missing, so Ben Clarke stepped in to the starting line-up.  "Chunk" started at hooker.

Action from S2 match

There was a minute's silence at all home matches on Saturday, as a mark of respect for the sad passing of Bill McLaren, "the voice of rugby".

Players and coaches from the Linlithgow Academy and Boroughmuir High School teams can be seen in the photo above ahead of kick-off at Mains Park.
